A “first-generation college student” is any student whose parents did not complete a four-year college degree and if you fall into that category, we are so proud and excited to welcome you to UW. Thankfully, you are in good company! Nearly 30-40% of UW students are first-gen. Having this significant portion of our student body falling into this category strengthens our dedication to providing the tools, resources and support to help ALL of our UW students reach their full potential and thrive both academically and personally. We are glad you’re here, you choose UW and you are ready to embark on this life-changing experience!
