I am a teacher, dancer, choreographer, and writer, dedicated to building spaces of curiosity, bravery, and connection. Across my various pursuits, I aim to activate imagination, increase receptivity to the unknown, and facilitate kinesthetic connection, resonance, and reverie. Interdisciplinarity is at the heart of all I do—and has been the foundation of my own education—which is just one reason I am so grateful to have landed at the Honors College! I currently teach Colloquium I and II, and I am looking forward to offering upper-level courses in dance and performance studies as well as creative process.

Prior to my arrival at UW, I taught a wide variety of courses including contemporary dance technique, composition, choreography, dance history and theory, somatics/anatomy, and conditioning at colleges and universities across the country including Smith, Hampshire, Marlboro, Keene State, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the University of Louisiana. I have collaborated with renowned dance artists including with Bebe Miller, Angie Hauser, Chris Aiken, Xan Burley, and others, and my choreography has been supported through residencies, fellowships, and presentations across the United States including the Ucross Foundation and Basin Arts Center. My creative nonfiction and poetry have appeared in The Maine Review, The Briar Cliff Review, The Good Life Review, and others, and my dance scholarship has been published and presented by the Dance Studies Association. I graduated with a BA in Russian and a Minor in Dance from Kenyon College and received my MFA in Dance from Smith College.

On a more personal note, as someone born and raised just down the road in Denver, Colorado, returning to the west after almost a decade has felt like a homecoming. However, my time here at the Honors College has affirmed my belief that home isn’t a geographic place—it’s a feeling, and most importantly, it’s people. I couldn’t be more delighted to have found a home amongst the incredible students, faculty, and staff at the Honors College.
