SOAR Mentors
Honors SOAR Mentors are student leaders who guide first-year Honors students through
the process of earning their Honors First-Year SOAR Badge. The Honors College curriculum
is designed to make experiential learning a core element of the student experience,
and the Honors SOAR program plays a key role in helping students gain a wide range
of valuable experiences. Learning happens both inside and outside the classroom, with
new discoveries, connections, and resources consistently offered through this program.
By engaging with the opportunities emphasized in Honors SOAR, students can explore
their passions, deepen their knowledge, and achieve success in both their academic
and personal pursuits. This hands-on approach enriches the overall Honors experience,
equipping students with the skills and insights necessary for lifelong success.
Through the peer mentorship provided by Honors SOAR mentors, students receive essential
support, build community, and receive guidance within the SOAR curriculum, strengthening
their educational journey and expanding their intellectual horizons.
If you are a first-year student and do not know your assigned SOAR Mentor, please
reach out to GA Makayla Kocher to find out who your SOAR Mentor is. If you are a transfer
student or a student beyond the first-year, please reach out to Makayla for support
on your Advanced Badge requirement.
