Entrepreneurship & Business Law Practicum

Student Practicum Director: G. Nolan Thomas

Nolan Thomas was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., but grew up in Gillette. He attended the University of Wyoming for his undergraduate degree which he earned in Business Economics in 2017. Nolan comes from a family with several UW College of Law graduates and has been impressed throughout his life by the intelligence, professionalism, and abilities of Wyoming lawyers. This fueled his desire to attend law school himself.

While in law school, Nolan has been a part of the Federalist Society, the Multicultural Law Student Association, and the WTLA, serving in leadership roles for each organization. Additionally, he has competed in the 2017 Oil and Gas Negotiations Competition; the 2019 Robert Rose Voir Dire Competition and; the 2019 Davis & Cannon Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.

He has thrived in positions where he has been able to help people while gaining legal experience. During the summer of 2018, he was a Summer Associate at Romsa Law Office, P.C. in Cheyenne, and in the summer of 2019, he served as a Summer Associate at Welborn Sullivan Meck & Tooley, P.C. in Casper. Prior to joining the Entrepreneurship & Business Law Practicum, Nolan worked in the Estate Planning Practicum and was named the Most Outstanding Student Intern.

Nolan will be taking the South Dakota bar exam and joining the firm Gunderson, Palmer, Nelson & Ashmore, LLP in their Rapid City office where he will practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, business planning, and general litigation.
