Do you ever wonder where the people featured in UW's photos and videos come from? Or maybe you saw someone from your dorm floor featured in a Day in the Life on Instagram. Well, we'll let you in on a little secret—they actually go to UW!

UW's Institutional Marketing & Communication team is responsible for sharing about the wonderful things happening around campus and creating marketing materials to help promote the university. We're actively recruiting students to join our Call List so when we're getting ready to produce our next big anthem video or looking for students to help us create the latest social media trend, we have the best representation possible to showcase our unique and diverse student body.

This sounds sick. How do I sign up?

It is sick. Fill out the form on this page as completely as your feel comfortable and as opportunities arise, we'll notify you via email.

Questions? We have answers!

Due to university regulations, we can't compensate our students who are not employed by the University of Wyoming with actual money in exchange for being featured on our social media or in other marketing materials.

But, what we can do is give you some really cool and exclusive SWAG like custom hoodies, backpacks, water bottles (the nice kind!) and a lot of other things we think will be useful. Some of these are reserved for our high value productions that we use in big marketing campaigns across the country so if you want the coolest of cool prizes, make sure to sign up to be in our videos outside of just social media!

We think so! You'll get to to interact with our professional (but fun!) staff who care deeply about student success. If you're a marketing, business or communications major, this could also be a foot in the door to some of our paid internships that are highly coveted. One of our interns worked here for two years before graduating and reached millions of viewers across our social media channels. Imagine putting that on your resume after college! Networking is key in this industry and we're here to help you succeed in any way we can.

Depending on what you're being featured in, here is a general ballpark of what you can expect for a time commitment whenever you're featured:

  • "Day in the Life" video on Instagram: 1-2 hours
  • National-level video featured in UW advertising campaign: 3-4 hours (possibly spread out across more than one day)
  • Photo shoot: 1-2 hours

We honor our students' academic commitments above anything else so if you're nervous about overcommitting, we'll work with you on your schedule and film when it's convenient for you...unless it's at 2 a.m.

Probably. Watch out though, he's a little sassy.

Absolutely! While even a single video helps us create new content, we love having repeat guests on social media because it gives our current and prospective students a sense of familiarity. Also note that depending on the topic, not all opportunities will be available to a previously featured student.
