To promote healthy physical activity on campus by providing resources and putting on or volunteering at related events.
According to Mayo Clinic, regular exercise has a wide array of benefits! Exercising at least 30 minutes a day helps prevent or manage many health problems, such as stroke, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, and type 2 diabetes, and it can also help promote a healthy, restful sleep. Not only that, but check out this article one UW student wrote, "Endorphins: The Secret to Happiness", examining how exercising releases endorphins, which can improve your mood.
From yoga to cycling to HIIT 40, Half Acre offers a wide variety of classes for many interests. Follow the link to find descriptions of the group fitness classes offered at Half Acre, as well as the group fitness class schedule.

Find a list of the wide variety of outdoor recreation options in and around Laramie, such as hiking in the Snowy Range, climbing out at Turtle Rock in Vedauwoo, cross-country skiing at the Happy Jack Recreation Area, or exploring the many trails at Pilot Hill.
We get it! Sometimes you can’t make it to Half Acre for a run around the track, or you don’t enjoy or are unable to do more intense workouts like hiking or intramural basketball. Whatever your skill level and capability, we have offerings to help you stay physically fit and active!
Workout at home with our exercise video library. Each video comes with a demonstration of an exercise and an explanation of the goals of the workout.

Follow a self-guided tour and learn more about "Laradise"
Follow one of these self-guided tours to visit beautiful historic downtown Laramie, view some of the amazing murals around town, or even take a tour of the UW campus! Many sights on the tours are within the same five blocks, making these tours manageable for those looking for a chill walk around town on a nice day or who use a wheelchair or other walking aid.
