International Travel Insurance

International Travel Insurance is available to faculty, staff, and registered students while participating in short-term international trips sponsored or arranged by a University Department for University business. Faculty, staff, and registered students participating in these trips must record your travel following the instructions on the University Travel Website as early as possible prior to travel to activate the insurance.

The Travel Insurance that is provided covers:

  • Worldwide Travel Assistance,
  • Emergency Travel Assistance,
  • Medical Assistance,
  • VIP Personal Assistance Services, and
  • Personal Security Services.

Travel to High Risk Countries

If you are traveling to an area with US State Department travel advisory Levels 3 or 4 or Level 2 with additional warning language, you are required to complete the Heightened Risk Areas Form and receive approval of the travel from the Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Additional instructions on this process are available on the University Travel Website and on the University of Wyoming Policy and Procedure for Heightened Risk for International Travel.
