Risk Management approve University related events to ensure that the events have the proper permits and insurance needed. Typically, events are classified into Student Organizations, department, or outside entities on campus.
Students and SOs need to email Risk Management when planning events with the following information:
All SOs need to work with the Campus Activities Center and register the event through Collegiate Link at least 10 business days prior to the event.

If you are looking to plan an event at a University of Wyoming facility, please email Risk Management with the following information:
University facilities can be scheduled through Central Scheduling, the Union, and Residence Life. Scheduled events will need to have caterers approved prior to the event in case vendor insurance is needed.
Liability Insurance is required for all events hosted by outside entities and may be required for events hosted by UW departments. The insurance can be purchased through the insurance vendor of your choice. The University of Wyoming must be named as additional insured on all special event policies, and the limits must be no less than $1,000,000 per occurrence.

The University of Wyoming is a member of the University Risk and Insurance Management Association and the required insurance may be purchased through their TULIP program through Gallagher EventPro.
The University of Wyoming is committed to the safety, protection, and wellbeing of minors who participate in University-sponsored or University-approved Programs. To facilitate the safety, of minors on campus, the University has implemented a Policy to establish minimum requirements with which all University-sponsored or University-approved programs in which minors participate must comply without regard to the location of Program activities. The Policy applies to all programs being advertised after January 1, 2017. Questions can be directed to Risk Management.
