Certificates of Insurance are used to provide proof of insurance coverage. An outside party may request proof that the University of Wyoming is insured or the University may request proof of insurance from a third party. Both types of requests can be submitted to Risk Management.
Contracts need to be completed in accordance to the Office of General Counsel guidelines. If there are insurance requirements in the contract, the person assigned by General Counsel’s Office to review the contract will consult with Risk Management about the insurance requirements as necessary. Once the contract is complete, if it requires UW to provide a certificate of insurance to other parties, request a certificate from Risk Management as described below and please include a copy of the final contract with the request. Please allow as much time as possible to provide the certificate and no less than 3 business days.
