To ensure a seamless New Student Day experience, students are encouraged to complete the following items.
Take the Math Placement Exam. If you have not taken the ACT/SAT, we recommend taking the Math Placement Exam at least four days prior to your New Student Day event to help your advisor recommend an appropriate math class.
If there is a red exclamation mark for this on your WyoWeb checklist, we need you to take the exam.
If you have a green checkmark, you do not need to take the placement exam.
A yellow triangle means you should discuss with your advisor the options for your math course and if you should take the placement exam over the summer.
Check the ACT/SAT scores we have on file. Even though ACT/SAT scores are not required for admission, they are still helpful for math class placement. You can view what test scores UW has on file for you through your WyoRecords accounts when you click on Student Records then Test Scores. Click here to view a step-by-step guide. If you have score results that are not showing on your WyoRecords account, please have them sent to UW Admissions. You can email a copy of your ACT/SAT score report to admissions@uwyo.edu. Please be sure it has your first and last name on it, includes the test date and the score breakdown for each exam section.
Learn more about hall and floor options available in the residence halls.
Continue to check your email. Please check your email regularly (including spam/junk/clutter folders) for important information about not only New Student Day but other important things leading up to your start at UW this fall.
If you initially applied to UW with your high school email address, please let us know a personal email (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) so we can update your account. We don’t want you to miss important emails that get caught in the spam filter or when your email gets shut off after graduation.
Verify your major is accurate. You can view your major under your name when you initially log in to your WyoRecords checklist. Email admissions@uwyo.edu at least a week before your New Student Day event if you need to update your major. If you are interested in double majoring or adding a minor, you do not need to do anything now. You can discuss this with your advisor this summer or fall.
Complete the Prepare for Registration checklist through your WyoRecords account by clicking on Registration and then Prepare for Registration. Information about how to complete this, including a step-by-step guide, is available here. Note: this is different than your WyoWeb checklist when you initially log in. This includes the following:
Opting in/out of UW health insurance coverage
Providing a UW Alert cell phone number
Updating contact information
Completing the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement
Upload your WyoOne ID photo through your WyoWeb checklist. If you upload your photo in advance, you can get a paper copy of your ID card at the WyoOne ID table during the resource fair.
Submit proof of your MMR immunizations through the Student Health Service Online Patient Portal.
Fill out your housing application, including your interest in participating in a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) or Living Learning Community (LLC) and select your meal plan.
