Award Notice

The award notice (sometimes referred to as the award letter or award package) is a financial aid notification you can view/accept in the Checklist section of the left navigation pane within your WyoRecords. The notice tells you what we estimate your need and Student Aid Index (SAI) (formerly Estimated Family Contribution) for the year will be. It will list what types of aid you're eligible for, as well as the dollar amounts. If you find that you don't want to accept a form of Federal Aid that you're eligible for, click on the "decline" on the box beside it, or log into the WyoScholarships system to "decline" any scholarships received from UW. Your aid will be issued at the beginning of each semester. Be sure to print out and keep a copy of the notice. You may need it when you file your federal income tax return for that year.

You may get more than one notice before the school year starts.  We want you to have an early estimate of what your financial aid at UW will be. As we discover more about your financial situation, our estimate may change and we'll notify you of any new awards each time. If you're considering other colleges and you receive award notices from each of them, consider accepting all the offers at first. Once you decide which college to attend, notify the other colleges, in writing, of your decision.
