Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance

The University of Wyoming (UW) consistently ranks among the best values in the country with low and cost-effective tuition for both resident and non-resident students. Cost of Attendance (COA) is not a bill but is an estimate of school-related expenses a full-time student can expect to have for an academic year, and it can help a student estimate their overall out-of-pocket costs when attending UW. COA includes direct expenses (billed by the university) and indirect expenses, and it considers a student’s residency status, living arrangements and, in some cases, the student’s major. The following components are included in COA as required by federal law and will be used to determine financial aid.

Direct Expenses

  • Tuition

  • Fees

  • Living Expenses (Housing and Food) if on-campus

Indirect Expenses

  • Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment

  • Transportation

  • Miscellaneous Personal Expenses

  • Living Expenses (Housing and Food) if off-campus or at home
