Practice Interest:

My practice areas of experience have been in outpatient mental health working with clients and patients of unique cultural backgrounds. I also have practice experience in organizational leadership and community enrichment. My clinical practice is informed by narrative theory, SFBT, and CBT techniques. My experience has taught me about the impact that narrative, perspective, and storytelling can have on individual and community well-being.

Teaching Philosophy:

My teaching philosophy is heavily influenced by active learning pedagogy. I had the privilege of working as a learning assistant with the LAMP Program under the Science Initiative at UWyo. It is important to me to facilitate hands-on, evidence-based teaching strategies that engage students in the learning process. I believe learning is best supported through multidirectional communication that is safe, inclusive, and student-centered. My overarching goal in the classroom is to equip students with the skills and tools they need to effectively create change and to foster critical thinking that drives the social work profession into the future.
