Internships

Internships are a great opportunity for students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world scenarios. Many of our students work with real estate firms, property management companies, investment funds or development companies to gain hands-on experience before graduation. Through these internships, students gain valuable industry insights, develop their professional networks and explore different career paths within the real estate sector.

UW prides itself on giving students ample opportunities to conduct research in their areas of interest. Real estate students may collaborate with faculty members on research projects, conduct independent research or participate in research competitions and conferences. Through research, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while gaining a deeper understanding of real estate theory, methodology and trends.

Service learning projects engage students in community-based real estate initiatives, where they apply their skills and knowledge to community development efforts. Projects may include affordable housing initiatives, urban revitalization projects and community redevelopment programs. Through these projects, our students gain practical experience in real project management, negotiation and community engagement, all while making a positive impact on society and building their professional portfolios.

UW’s real estate courses provide ample opportunities for students to build their professional network. Classes host industry panels, conferences and networking events featuring guest speakers from various sectors of the real estate industry.
