Enhance Your Degree With An Entrepreneurship Minor

The entrepreneurship minor program at UW gives students the opportunity to hone their business acumen and put ideas to the test.

Here at UW, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. So, entrepreneurship minor students get to do just that. By working with local businesses, developing their own business concepts, and presenting in class – students leave the program with real management experience. And, in many cases, a thriving startup.

Meet Our Faculty

UW’s entrepreneurship program sets students up for success by providing networking opportunities and community events throughout the school year. One such event is the Women Entrepreneurship Week Founding Stories Gathering. In this annual event, female founders tell their stories and connect with UW’s Women in Business student organization.

Entrepreneurship students get access to on-campus makerspaces to learn new skills and use communal equipment to bring their ideas to life! UW entrepreneurship classes also give students hands-on experience. Students will develop their own business concepts and work with local businesses throughout their coursework.

The University of Wyoming College of Business Entrepreneurship Program recently won the Model Emerging Program Award at the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) Conference. As part of the minor program, students enjoy the same rigorous coursework, research opportunities and hands-on experience as all entrepreneurship students.

"Being a non-business major, I had an awesome experience within the College of Business at the University of Wyoming. I want to start my own chiropractic clinic someday and I feel that I was given a solid foundation in business and entrepreneurship to build upon in the future. I am a more well-rounded student and person because of the College of Business at UW. Declaring a minor in entrepreneurship at the University of Wyoming was one of the best decisions I made during my time in Laramie. I am a health sciences major and I didn’t know much of anything about business before beginning my minor coursework. I feel that I made huge advancements with my knowledge in business with only just a minor. I feel ready to build upon the foundation I have going forward in healthcare and business."
