Charlie Cruz


Charlie Cruz teaches Advanced Clinical Practicum: Microbiology, Clinical Research Design, Immunology, Laboratory Management, and Microscopy: Urinalysis and Body Fluids in the Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program of UW-C and Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program of Casper College. He is a certified international medical laboratory scientist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology – Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC), clinical laboratory scientist by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and registered medical technologist by the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission. He holds a Ph.D., two master’s degrees (medical laboratory science and science education), and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology. Together with the UW MLS Program Director and international collaborators, Charlie ventures into research for publication. His research interests focus on MLS education and management. Charlie’s guiding principle in teaching is to produce lifetime learners and thinkers in the field of clinical laboratory sciences.
