EVOLVE is a community-based leadership model that helps to build informed and capable leaders. By investing in the development of leaders a community can grow and become stronger. To create strong Wyoming entities, the CDE team offers a variety of ways to build knowledgeable and effective governing bodies.
Appointed & Elected Board Training
Effective and sustainable government requires boards that understand their responsibilities.
The CDE team is available to provide workshops and develop educational
programs for appointed and elected boards.
Additional board training resources and an online county-appointed board training
program are available as complements to the county-appointed board training handbook
and in-person workshops which include: Board training resources, Online county-appointed
board training program, and Association and Organization Training.
The CDE team is available to partner with governmental associations and organizations
to provide training to their membership and staff.

Board Training
An effective and sustainable organization requires a governing board that understands
its responsibilities, is mission driven and strategic and is competently staffed.
The CDE team is available to provide workshops and develop programs for nonprofit
boards and their staff.
Additional board training resources are available as a complement to the following workshops: Governance & Legal Responsibilities, Effective Meetings, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Ethics, Decision Making (including parliamentary procedure), Fiscal Responsibility, and Board Building.
Interpersonal skills, which are also known as people skills, are critical components of effective leadership. CDE team members empower organizations, enterprises and individuals by providing them with the skills they need to affect change in their communities. Examples of workshop topics include: Dealing with Conflict, Creativity Time, Management, Ethics Decision Making, Communication, Listening, and Dealing with Difficult People.
Much of what makes Wyoming’s communities desirable and sustainable is done within the private and public organizations within its communities. Organizational Leadership skills, which are also known as process skills, are critical components of effective leadership. Workshops to improve community leadership capabilities are offered to organizations and groups on a variety of topics. Examples of workshop topics include: Decision Making, Parliamentary Procedure, Social Action Process, Effective Meetings, Organization and Project Planning, Financial Oversight, and Strategic Planning.
