On Campus Services

In addition to traditional law enforcement activities such as speed enforcement and safety patrolling, the UWPD offers a variety of non-enforcement activities including fingerprinting, VIN Inspections, lost and found pickup and storage as well as safety escorts.  Our department also provides free information on a variety of topics such as; theft, sexual assault, drug and alcohol abuse as well as harassing phone calls.  In addition, department personnel frequently present public safety programs upon request from any group or organization.  Please visit the respected pages for more information regarding Lost and Found, Firearms Storage, Bicycle Registration, Fingerprinting and VIN Inspections.

Bicycle Registration

The UWPD offers a variety of bicycle services including registration, theft recovery, as well as safety and regulation enforcement. For UW bicycle regulations as well as other information please see our Bicycle Registration page.

Fingerprinting

The UWPD provides fingerprinting services for students, faculty, and staff members and general public.  For a list of hours, prices, and needed information please see our Fingerprinting page. 

Firearms Storage

The UW Police Department provides free weapon storage for all UW students living in UW housing (i.e. Fraternities, Sororities, Residence Halls, Bison Run Village, Landmark Village, River Village, and Spanish Walk Apartments).  To see information regarding weapon types and requirements please see our Firearms Storage page.

Lost and Found

The UWPD picks up and stores found items from campus locations and stores them at an undisclosed location.  High traffic buildings (i.e. Union, Coe Library and the Classroom building) are scheduled for weekly pickups, while remaining buildings are picked up on an as-needed basis.  All unclaimed property will be auctioned off annually in September. For further information regarding latest building pick ups and auction date please see our Lost and Found page.
