Who We Are & What We Do
Faculty & Staff
Rooted in values of service, dignity, collaboration, and innovation, WIND is committed to promoting full inclusion, independence, and participation for all. Our team plays a key role in advancing this mission—bringing expertise, passion, and vision to our work across Wyoming.
WIND Faculty & StaffPartnerships
WIND works closely with our network partners, and by extension, with individuals with disabilities and families, independent living and provider organizations, educators, and state agencies to best support people with disabilities in Wyoming.
WIND History
The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND) is one of 68 University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs) in the United States and Territories. As an academic unit in the College of Health Sciences and the state’s only UCEDD, WIND connects evidence-based research and practice from our national network and the University of Wyoming with professionals and communities across the state.
Contributions to Scholarship
Our team actively advances knowledge through peer-reviewed publications, invited chapters, presentations, and professional service in fields such as disability studies, autism research, education, and public health.
Community Training
WIND, guided by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, serves Wyoming through projects focused on disability across the lifespan, with expertise in health, education, employment, assistive technology, cultural diversity, and community living. This page highlights our Community Education and Training efforts, which provide learning opportunities that promote inclusion for individuals with disabilities and their families.
