Man in a hat, looking down at his hands. He is holding a small lizard.

Dr. Brian Barber | Director of Science Programs, Biodiversity Institute

One of my primary roles at the Biodiversity Institute is to serve as the Broader Impacts point person for faculty and graduate students in the Life Science Programs like Zoology and Physiology.

I can provide advice on and write the broader impacts components of research grant proposals. For example, one of my favorite projects was coordinating the development of an interactive flight simulator that allowed that provided the opportunity for users to engage with the challenges of high altitude flight experienced by montane species of bumblebees.

Contact me about: Please feel free to contact me if you would like to participate in a Science Café, work with K-12 students or afterschool programs like Girl Scouts.
