Transit Maintenance Services

The Transit Maintenance Services Building is located on S. 15th Street adjacent to I-80. The project includes renovation of an existing building to accommodate fleet maintenance, a 7,940gsf bus maintenance facility, a 12,000gsf  enclosed bus storage facility, a 6,400gsf  open-air metal canopy, and a 16,000gsf open-air  metal canopy. The vehicle maintenance shop provides enhanced space for maintenance equipment and storage. The project will enable UW Transportation Services to provide better service and maintenance to the University’s robust transit system fleet with modern structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.    

The University of Wyoming received federal funding to support this project. The Federal Transit Administration provided federal assistance for the project through a 5339(b) Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Discretionary Grant in the amount of $4,237,262 and a 5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Formula Grant in the amount of $1,547,005. The federal funding is administered through WYDOT and transferred to the University of Wyoming.

Campus Impacts: 

  • Additional campus parking will be created on Bradley Street between 13th and 14th Street as Fleet vehicles are relocated to the new facility.
