Dean's Weekly Address

Greetings Staff and Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,

On Tuesday of this week, I travelled to Casper to perform with Ben Markley, department head in music, and his big band. It was great fun to practice the saxophone again to get ready for this performance. It was a full and enthusiastic audience. And these trips are a good way to have contact with college constituents.

Following this performance, I travelled to San Diego to meet with college donors and attend the UW Foundation Board meeting. This Board consists of some of UW’s best supporters, and I always enjoy sharing with them the inspiring stories of our students and faculty.

Finally, it’s now award season! Keep an eye on your email for upcoming opportunities to nominate both students and faculty for a variety of awards.
