Oboist Brittany Bonner has a versatile career that includes performance, education and community engagement in the Colorado Front Range region, and is excited to be joining the faculty of the University of Wyoming as instructor of oboe. Striving to meet the individual needs of each student, her teaching style focuses on establishing a beautiful tone, advanced concepts of musical phrasing, and preparation for success in professional endeavors. Her students have been accepted into numerous honor bands, summer programs, and collegiate institutions across the country. She is also on the faculty at Parlando School of Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado and has taught at Colorado State University - Pueblo.

In addition to her teaching work, Brittany is the principal oboist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, and holds positions in the Boulder Philharmonic and Greeley Philharmonic Orchestras. She frequently performs with other professional ensembles, including Colorado Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. She is passionate about chamber music, and performs regularly with her wind quintet in chamber music concerts that she organizes. In addition, she has recently commissioned several new works for oboe, clarinet, and piano with the goal of expanding the limited repertoire for that instrumentation. She is a co-founder of Melodic Light, a concert series bringing excellent musical performances to local and underserved communities in northern Colorado.

Brittany earned degrees from University of Colorado Boulder (Master in Music) and Baylor University (Bachelor in Music Education). Her primary teachers include Peter Cooper, Doris DeLoach, and Jason Lichtenwalter.
