Student Awards:
(Nominations due April 15)The purpose of this award is to recognize petroleum engineering graduate students,
who have achieved outstanding performance in course work, research, and service. The
accomplishments of these outstanding students are demonstrated through their academic
GPA, publications in archival journals, presentations at national & international
meetings, service to the department, college, university and/or profession.
Nomination & Selection Procedure:
- Nominations should be submitted to the PETE Awards Committee no later than April 15 of current year.
- The nomination packet should include the following:

- A nomination letter from a faculty member in Petroleum Engineering and two other support
letters
- A current resume
- Evidence of excellence in course work, research, and service. This may include TA
evaluations, a sample of published work, service and leadership roles in student and
civic organizations, and other information indicative of excellence in these areas
- The PETE Awards Committee will review nominations and select the recipients of this
award by April 30 of current year.
- Two award recipients will be identified. The first recipient will be awarded $1,000,
and the second will be awarded $500. Each will receive a plaque celebrating their
accomplishment.
