Amanda is from Wilson, WY and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Wyoming as part of the Honor Program with a major in Microbiology and a minor in Music for vocal performance. She has considered pediatrics, but could see herself going into nearly any field of medicine-she looks forward to seeing where her medical journey takes her. Amanda’s interest in medicine stems mostly, as she states "from her illness and accident prone family". She shares that she and her family have spent an unfortunate amount of time in hospitals and doctor’s offices which resulted in some key inspirational moments, both good and bad. She aspires to become the more empathetic, patient centered-physician, tipping those scales toward the good. Between undergraduate schooling and medical school she worked as a phlebotomist/lab technician and as a personal assistant for a Psychiatrist. In her free time she loves spending time with her loved ones, singing, hiking, figure skating, and participating in any type of winter sports.
