Changing your diet and habits is not always easy. These tips can help you as you begin to change what and how you eat:
Start with one small change. As you become more comfortable, add in more changes.
Add an extra piece of fruit to your day or include a serving of vegetables at dinner. Try cooking at home or making a new recipe.
Try switching from buying white bread to whole wheat bread. Try whole wheat pasta or brown rice.
These milks have all the benefits of whole milk without all the fat.
In-season fruits and vegetables are usually less expensive. They often have a better flavor, too!
Lean meat, seafood, nuts, eggs, and beans are all good sources of protein. Try different ones throughout the week.
Start with a small portion and if you are still hungry, you can always go back for more. Eating slowly will help you feel when you have had enough.
Staying hydrated helps your body to feel good. Drinking water can also stop you from mindless eating.
Fruit, vegetables, and nuts all make great snacks. Eat them together or with a small portion of another food group to keep from becoming too hungry.
