Amy Shane-Nichols is an Assistant Professor in the Design, Merchandising and Textiles program unit. Amy teaches apparel merchandising, branding and consumer behavior courses. Her research focuses on (a) self-identity (b) social identity (c) symbolic interaction (d) symbolic consumption and (e) consumer behavior.

The goal of my research is to understand consumers’ attitudes and motives toward clothing consumption and to advance scholarly knowledge relating to consumers’ behaviors.
