After more than 25 years of leadership as the University of Wyoming’s Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Robert Aylward has retired, leaving behind an enduring legacy of technological innovation and growth at UW.

Under Robert’s leadership, Information Technology at UW evolved into a top-tier technology partner, supporting the university’s mission and enhancing the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff alike. From strategic infrastructure upgrades to pioneering digital solutions, Robert’s tenure was marked by significant advancements that will continue to shape the university’s future for years to come.

"I could not have asked for a more fulfilling career than the one I have had at the University of Wyoming. UW has been an exceptional and professionally gratifying place to work. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had during my tenure," Aylward reflects. "I have been extremely fortunate to have had outstanding employees who have truly made IT successful over the years. I am proud of the contributions IT has made in supporting the university's mission, the university's success, and the students who have passed through the university's doors."

  • Has served as Deputy CIO since 2020 and has been appointed Interim Vice President and CIO. In this new role, she will lead the IT team in maintaining high levels of service and support across the university. Her leadership and experience make her well-positioned to guide the division through this transition and beyond.
