Interlibrary Loan Policies

Interlibrary Loan allows UW students, faculty, and staff to request books, journal articles, media, and other materials regardless of where it is available. Request materials from UW and other libraries via Interlibrary Loan.

UW students, faculty, and staff can borrow materials from other libraries through the Interlibrary Loan service. There is no charge for this service.

Interlibrary Loan staff will attempt to borrow all requested materials, but are limited by other libraries' ability to lend. This office complies with the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code).

Loan periods, library-use-only restrictions, and long overdue and lost bills are set by the lending library. The UW Libraries assess a $10 billing fee for long overdue and lost interlibrary loan items.
