Borrowing Policies:
UW students, faculty, and staff can borrow physical and electronic material from other libraries through the Interlibrary Loan service. There is no charge to the patron for this service.
Interlibrary Loan staff will attempt to borrow all requested materials but are limited by other libraries' ability to lend. This office complies with the Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code).
Loan periods, library-use-only restrictions, and long overdue and lost bills are set by the lending library. The UW Libraries assesses a $10 billing fee for long overdue and lost interlibrary loan items.

UW students, faculty and staff can request physical and electronic material from lenders worldwide.
UW Libraries covers the cost of ILL services for UW students and employees. If you have lost or damaged ILL materials, please contact us right away. Lending libraries set their policies for lost or damaged items, and you may be billed for lost/damaged items.
Create an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) account with your WyoWeb username and password. Contact ILL by email or call (307) 766-5168.
Click the Interlibrary Loan icon wherever you see it: databases, research guides, QuickSearch or the Libraries' home page.
Available UW materials will be pulled and ready for pickup within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. If the requested material is not available at UW, the request will be forwarded to other libraries. Response time is usually, but not always, 1 week or less.
Patrons are notified by email or text when material is ready to be picked up at the library location of choice.
Select your preferred pick-up location when creating an Interlibrary Loan account: Coe Library, Brinkerhoff Geology Library, or the Law Library.
Materials are mailed to distance and off-campus patrons.
Prospector and Interlibrary Loan are separate systems. Prospector covers books and media from Colorado Libraries. Interlibrary Loan covers books, media, journal articles, book chapters, and other formats from UW and all other libraries.
