UW Libraries Support

University of Wyoming Alumni

University of Wyoming alumni have access to select Libraries resources after graduation. Library cards allow checkout of physical materials and are available at no cost to current members of the University of Wyoming Alumni Association. To become a member, contact the Alumni Association by email or call 307-766-4166.

 

Proof of membership must be presented in person at the UW Libraries in Laramie to obtain and renew a library card each year. See our Borrowing Polices for more information.

 

We are unable to provide alumni access to databases, eBooks, and other online resources. These resources are limited to current UW students and employees.

Community Members + Other Public Borrowers

The Libraries offer borrowing privileges to members of the public who reside in Wyoming:Library cards allow checkout of physical materials and are available at no cost to current residents of Wyoming with the presentation of a Wyoming Driver’s License or State ID card. Those residing in Wyoming with out of state identification must provide proof of residency.

 

Those residing outside Wyoming may also obtain borrowing privileges by paying a $20 account registration fee annually.

We are unable to provide community members with individual access to databases, eBooks, and other online resources. However, these may be consulted from public access terminals in Coe Library.

Other Information + Resources

All current citizens of Wyoming can access a number of library databases through the Wyoming State Library's WYLD website. Users must have a current Wyoming public library card in order to use WYLD resources. 

Further resources may be accessed through the Albany County Public Library.

A limited number of computers are provided for use by the public to perform library research. These computers allow Internet access to library databases and electronic subscriptions. Public access computers are available at Coe Library and the Geology Library.
