Research + Outreach Support at the Libraries

University of Wyoming Libraries can support faculty and staff members through several resources and services. Research Librarians are available for research consultations on research methods, scholarly research identities, and other research information at the libraries. More information on research tools is available through the Libraries' Research Guides.

Instructors may use the Libraries Course Reserves service to make readings and resources easily accessible to their students. This may include library owned physical resources, instructor owned texts, Internet links, videos, open access resources, etc.

Librarians are also available to work with classes that have a research component at any course level. To arrange a librarian to visit your class, please fill out an instruction request

Data Management resources are also available. Contact the Data Management Librarian, or learn more about Libraries resources that support use, management, curation, and preservation of research data.

Research + Outreach Services

Open Access + Publishing at the libraries

Open access and publishing at the University of Wyoming reflect the institution’s commitment to broadening access to knowledge and fostering academic transparency. Through initiatives led by the University Libraries, researchers, faculty, and students are encouraged to make their scholarly work freely available to the public, enhancing visibility and impact while promoting equitable access to information. The university supports a range of open access publishing models and provides resources to help the campus community navigate copyright, licensing, and repository services. These efforts underscore the university's role in advancing open scholarship and supporting the global exchange of ideas.

accessing materials at the libraries

Instructors may use the Libraries Course Reserves service to make readings and resources easily accessible to their students.

If an instructor requires materials outside of the Libraries, multiple services are available at no cost:

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows UW students, faculty, and staff to request books, journal articles, media, and other materials regardless of where it is available.
  • Prospector is a service that allows University students, faculty, and staff to request books, media, journals/articles, and other items from over 200 academic, public, and special libraries in Colorado.
  • Submit a Suggest a Purchase request. The University of Wyoming Libraries welcome your suggestions of materials you believe we should consider purchasing for our collections.

Instructors also have access to multiple collections within the Libraries.

For more information or assistance with these services, please contact the Help Desk at libcirc@uwyo.edu or 307-766-3190.
