Deisy Magdalena Vaske
Manager, Resource Discovery & Management

Deisy is a Supervisor of Library Services in the Resource Discovery and Management
division (RDM), for the Acquisitions unit. She has held several positions within
RDM over the fifteen years she has worked for the University Libraries. She supervises
the monographic (one-time) acquisitions purchases for print and electronic titles,
oversees the processing of invoices, and ensures purchases are charged to appropriate
funds. She oversees the record loading of one-time e-resources for popular reading
(OverDrive & McNaughton Popular Reading) and the catalog's discovery records for e-book
titles. Deisy is a proud native Spanish speaker and enjoys selecting Spanish titles
for the popular reading collection Spanish book plan.
In her years at UW, she has served as a mentor for the Multicultural Student Leadership
Initiative (MSLI) first-gen students.
Her favorite pastimes outside work are hiking in the mountains with her family, cooking, and, when time allows, sewing, and pampering her two small guinea pigs.
