CEA Network

The University of Wyoming CEA Network for workforce development represents Dr. Guadagno conceived and led the development of the University of Wyoming CEA Network as a new model for connecting industry partners, researchers, educators, and other CEA stakeholders. The Network is designed as an active collaboration platform—not simply a membership organization—where all partners can develop joint projects, exchange knowledge and expertise and collectively advance CEA workforce development by exposing students to emerging technologies, creating hands-on learning opportunities and expanding access to internships and industry experiences.

The CEA Network is one of the deliverables of the Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP), the state-led initiative focused on diversifying and modernizing Wyoming’s economy. While CEA networks and industry groups have emerged at other institutions across the United States, the UW model is distinctive in its explicit emphasis on workforce development, industry-driven collaboration, and active engagement among all members. By bringing industry and academia together around tangible projects and student opportunities, the Network creates a direct pathway for translating CEA innovation into workforce readiness, research collaboration and economic development.

In October 2025, with the key support of the UW Office of Industry and Strategic Partnership the CEA Network was officially launched with 10 participating founding companies https://www.uwyo.edu/news/2025/10/uw-launches-controlled-environment-agriculture-network.html.
