Center for Controlled Environment Agriculture

The University of Wyoming (UW) Center for Controlled Environment Agriculture (C-CEA) leverages state’s investments in the Science Initiative and Tier-1 Engineering Initiative. The Center aims to unite experts across different Colleges across campus, from the College of Engineering and Physical Science to the School of Computing and the College of Agriculture, Life Science and Natural Resources to spur interdisciplinary collaboration towards a broad use of CEA from education to job creation and technological innovations. The center serves as a platform to engage various stakeholders in CEA and collaborate with other institutional partners in Wyoming and beyond. Our key stakeholders include, but are not limited to producers, CEA tech companies and startups, consumers, community colleges, K-12 educators, government agencies, non-profits, and community extension.

By connecting faculty and researchers across colleges, the C-CEA actively fosters interdisciplinary partnerships and catalyzes joint research projects aimed at improving productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in CEA systems. The C-CEA also directly invests in its community by offering seed funding, scholarships, and travel grants, with the scope of accelerating research, support trainees, and strengthen multidisciplinary teams poised to secure external funding.
