ECHO in Communicable Disease
This ECHO will focus on participants' capacity and confidence to prevent, diagnose,
and manage HIV, hepatitis B and C, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and tuberculosis
through case-based learning, evidence-based guidance, and peer collaboration. Learners
will be able to conduct guideline-based, CDC- and Wyoming Department of Health (WDH)-recommended
HIV and STI screening and testing; diagnose and treat HIV; prescribe and manage HIV
pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), and doxycycline
post-exposure prophylaxis (DoxyPEP); accurately diagnose and treat hepatitis B and
C; correctly interpret syphilis serologic test results, determine disease stage, and
provide appropriate treatment; and distinguish between latent and active tuberculosis
(TB) to ensure appropriate clinical management.
