Device Loans
WATR's Assistive Technology Device Loan Center offers a wide variety of Assistive Technology (AT) for Wyoming residents interested in borrowing a device to meet the needs of communication, daily living, learning, vision or hearing. Loan periods are typically six weeks, and offer individuals the opportunity to trial devices so they can make an informed decision prior to a purchase.
All device loan requests will be reviewed and approved by WATR staff prior to shipment. The number of devices that may be borrowed at one time may be limited, as inventory is carefully monitored. If any issues arise, you will be notified as soon as possible via email regarding your device request. The borrower agrees to allow WATR staff a minimum of two business days to charge and prepare the requested devices prior to pick up or shipment.
At the end of your loan period, if you plan to return devices in person, please notify WATR staff in advance to ensure someone is available at the WATR lab to receive them.
To view and search devices, visit the Wyoming AT4ALL website.
To begin borrowing items, fill out a WATR Device Loan Agreement for individuals or school districts.
Visit the WyRamp Project site to learn more about access ramp loans for a home.

Device Demonstrations
WATR offers free assistive technology device demonstrations, designed to meet the specific needs of an individual. These demonstrations can be held virtually via Zoom or in-person in the Laramie lab. We can assist people with disabilities and their families, school districts, health-related service professionals, as well as any Wyoming resident who might be interested in learning about assistive technology.
Device demonstrations will help:
-
Increase understanding of the types of devices that can help with specific needs, such as speech communication or reading mail.
-
Improve knowledge of a device's features, and how those features differ from other devices that perform similar functions.
-
Increase understanding of how device(s) can help at work, in school, at home, and in your community.
Schedule an appointment with WATR to test devices. WATR staff are available both in-person as well as through Zoom videoconferencing technology.
You can request a device demonstration by using our online request form or contact WATR by calling (307) 766-2051 or emailing watr@uwyo.edu.
The WATR Lab is located in the University of Wyoming’s Health Sciences Building, Room 151 at the intersection of 9th and Clark Streets, across from Turtle Rock Cafe. Parking and accessible parking are available in the Health Sciences parking lot, however, you will need to register your vehicle information at the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities’ Reception Desk prior to entering the WATR Lab.

Connecting Wyoming Through Assistive Technology Reuse and Exchange
Wyoming Assistive Technology Resources (WATR) has a reuse program that provides networking opportunities for individuals to exchange, sell, and recycle lightly-used assistive technology throughout the state of Wyoming. All sale profits allow WATR to buy, update, and maintain new devices.
By accepting device(s) or durable medical equipment (DME) through WATR’s reuse program, you agree to use it solely for its intended purpose. You further agree not to sell, trade, or otherwise profit from this item. This agreement helps ensure that vital resources remain available to individuals in need and supports the responsible, ethical use of equipment. Maximum devices that can be requested by an individual are five per month.
Wyoming residents—including individuals, agencies, service providers, and family members—can purchase a variety of assistive technology items on AT4ALL, such as communication devices, learning aids, computer accessories, books, and games.
Reuse is an opportunity to buy, sell, or donate lightly-used assistive technology
