Austin grew up in Byron, Wyoming and attended Lovell High School. Upon graduating, he moved to Chihuahua, Mexico where he served a proselytizing mission for 2 years. In the spring of 2020, he graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. His interest in medicine grew as he volunteered as an interpreter at a psychiatric clinic and conducted research on angiogenesis. He is currently interested in several fields of medicine and is excited to explore a variety of specialties throughout medical school. During his free time, he enjoys hiking, hunting, fishing, and playing sports.
