UW offers several Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) paths to suit different goals. The "Basic BSN" is an on-campus program for students aiming to become a registered nurse. The Bachelors Reach for Accelerated Nursing Degree (BRAND) is an accelerated option for those with a prior bachelor’s degree who desire to become a registered nurse. Additionally, the BSN Completion option is for graduates of the Wyoming ADN Program who wish to earn a BSN. Each route offers a unique experience, but all provide high-quality education to prepare you for the next step in your nursing career. It’s all about finding the program that is the best fit for you and your goals.

The Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing’s Master of Science (MS) program is designed for nurses seeking to become educators or leaders in their field. This program cultivates knowledgeable, innovative leaders who can advance nursing education and practice within today’s complex healthcare system. The curriculum emphasizes core concepts such as transformation, effective communication, a global perspective, outcomes orientation and rural population health. These key areas equip our graduates with the skills and expertise needed to excel wherever your career may take you.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree is now the standard for advanced practice nursing education. Our nursing school offers two clinical concentrations: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). For master's-prepared FNPs or PMHNPs, the school provides a pathway to earn the DNP, which includes the full post-BSN curriculum to expand expertise into another population area—either FNP or PMHNP. Both pathways offer a comprehensive foundation with a strong emphasis on serving rural communities, ensuring our graduates are equipped to meet the unique needs of these areas and confidently address any challenges they encounter in their careers.
