August 5, 2016 — Opportunities to collaborate with others to enhance literacy education opportunities for Wyoming’s children are among the many reasons that Cindy Brock chose to spend the next chapter of her professional life as a scholar-leader at the University of Wyoming’s Literacy Research Center and Clinic (LRCC).

UW Trustees Education Initiative Director Selected

August 2, 2016 — An experienced administrator who has helped lead education reform efforts in Ohio has been selected to direct the University of Wyoming Trustees Education Initiative, aimed at elevating UW’s College of Education to national pre-eminence in preparing K-12 teachers, counselors and administrators.

UW Doctoral Student Receives Competitive International Fellowship

July 26, 2016 — University of Wyoming doctoral student Adeline Borti arrived in Laramie earlier this year with not only a goal and a literacy education research agenda. A few months later, she won an international award with financial support from a highly competitive American Association of University Women (AAUW) 2016-17 International Fellowship.

UW’s Dousay Receives Honors, Opportunities at National Maker Faire

July 25, 2016 — A trip to Washington, D.C., to represent the University of Wyoming at the 2016 National Maker Faire this summer yielded the expected opportunities to spotlight UW’s emerging work in the movement for College of Education faculty member Tonia Dousay, along with a couple of surprising twists -- including an invitation from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

UW Early Childhood Student from Casper Gains Insights, Experience in Nepal

July 6, 2016 — Katrina Swanson, of Casper, was one of 12 students in the University of Wyoming’s early childhood education program who gained insights they say will help them become better teachers during a three-week visit to Nepal this summer.
