Environment and Natural Resources
The mission of the UW Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) program is to advance the understanding and resolution of complex environmental and natural resources challenges.
Through the work of the Helga Otto Haub School, William D. Ruckelshaus Institute, and Wyoming Conservation Corps, ENR:
- Educates undergraduate and graduate students through innovative and interdisciplinary teaching;
- Supports stakeholder-driven solutions to environmental challenges by communicating relevant research and promoting collaborative decision making; and,
- Inspires young adults to become stewards of our natural resources through leadership training and service-learning to benefit lands in Wyoming.

Energy Mitigation Research and Outreach Initiative
Natural Gas Developement and Wildlife Mitigation: A Primer is the first publication of the Ruckelshaus Institute's new Energy Mitigation Research and Outreach Initiative. The primer provides a common foundation of terms and understanding for what “mitigation” means in the context of natural gas development in Wyoming. It will help land and wildlife managers, decision-makers, industry and the public better understand the context of mitigation for energy development’s impacts to wildlife.
