Encouraging, helpful, kind, caring, involved, incredible, thoughtful, mindful, dedicated
and
exceptional are just a few of the adjectives used by students to describe Dr. Ann
Hernandez. It’snot surprising, then, that Ann was nominated for and selected as one
of the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy’s 2022-23 Preceptors of the Year.
The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy (UWSOP) is proud to highlight one of
our
exceptional alumni, Maia Rauer, who is one of two recipients of the School’s 2022-23
Preceptor of the Year award. Maia is a 2008 graduate who is currently a clinical pharmacist
at Medical Center of the Rockies Outpatient Pharmacy (MCROP). She has been serving
as a UWSOP preceptor for the past 10 plus years, and she also assists the other pharmacist
at MCROP as copreceptor of both University of Colorado and Regis pharmacy students.
The University of Wyoming (UW) School of Pharmacy awarded two Preceptors of the Year for the 2021-2022 academic year. Pharmacist, Sammy Ihunwaeze, who precepts students at North Suburban Medical Center in Thorton, CO was one of the award recipients. Sammy graduated from UWSOP in May 2014 and has been precepting since 2015 .
The University of Wyoming (UW) School of Pharmacy awarded two Preceptors of the Year for the 2021-2022 academic year. Pharmacist, Lesley Liebig, who precepts students at Banner Medical Group Ambulatory Clinics in both Loveland and Fort Collins, CO was one of the award recipients. Lesley's passion and teaching for her profession does not go unnoticed by our students.
The University of Wyoming (UW) School of Pharmacy awarded two Preceptors of the Year for the 2020-2021 academic year. Pharmacist, Karen Burk, who precepts students at Powell Valley Healthcare in Powell, WY was one of the award recipients. Karen is a two time Preceptor of the Year recipient who took the time to share her insights as to what makes her such an outstanding and well respected pharmacist, mentor and educator.
The University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy awarded two Preceptors of the Year for the 2020-2021 academic year. Pharmacist, Jason Terwilliger, who is a preceptor at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Cheyenne, WY was one of the award recipients. Jason sat for an interview about his role as a preceptor so that the School of Pharmacy could share with other preceptors his strategies to educate and motivate student learners.
For the 2019-2020 academic year two Pharmacists were awarded the Preceptor of The Year title from The University of Wyoming (UW) School of Pharmacy. Of the award recipients, Pharmacist Melinda Carroll - a preceptor as well as Pharmacy manager at King Soopers Pharmacy in Cheyenne, WY - was chosen to be interviewed to learn about what she does to earn the respect and admiration from many of her students, as well as what advice she would give to her fellow preceptors looking for ways to guide and encourage their own students.
