Elementary School: Wyoming NASA Space Grant: Rocket Trunk (3rd grade)

Self-contained, educational resources for teachers. The activities and materials in the Rocket Trunk help students understand how rockets work, including Newton's Third Law of Motion. (updated 12/3013)


Elementary-High School: Wyoming NASA Space Grant: GPS/GIS Trunk (All grades)

Trunk includes 20 Garmin eTrex GPS units, laminated GPS instructions and a USB drive with PowerPoints, curriculum and data files. (updated 12/2013)


Middle-High School: Wyoming NASA Space Grant: Alternative Energy/Climate Change Trunk (6th-10th grade)

Self-contained, educational resources for teachers. Students explore activities surrounding climate change issues including greenhouse gases, carbon sequestration, economics and policy issues. Hands-on kits include wind turbines, eco-battery vehicles, a solar power kit, and an air and water power kit.


Middle-High School: Wyoming NASA Space Grant: Terrific Telescopes Trunk (7th-9th grades)

Self-contained, educational resources for teachers. Students explore the basic properties of positive lenses. They learn how light is refracted, determine lens properties, use lenses as simple magnifiers and combine two lenses to create a refracting telescope. (updated 12/2013)


All grades: Wyoming State Museum Discovery Trunk Program

The Discovery Trunk Program enables students to better understand and appreciate the history and people of the West through hands-on experience with historical objects. Each trunk contains reproduction artifacts, a Teacher's Guide (including lesson plans, a description of the artifacts, student activities and bibliography), and an audio-video component. In-A-Box, Wyoming is a “traveling resource” designed to enhance your science & health curriculum. It’s all inclusive lesson plans & activities around specific themes give teachers, presenters, group leaders, and others working with children in grades 4-8 in the state of Wyoming the opportunity to use the curriculum absolutely free! Use these self-contained “Exploration in Science & Health” kits to discover aspects of scientific careers, the body, and the environment.
