Apply Now!

All applicants should submit their application material through the University Admissions Office online application system: Apply Online.  It is not necessary for prospective students to identify a willing faculty advisor prior to applying.  The deadline for fall applications is February 1st.  Spring applicants will be considered on a rolling basis – please contact us before applying if you are interested in Spring admission.

To receive full consideration, make sure the following documents are uploaded in the online system before the application deadline:

i. Resume

ii. Statement of Purpose

The statement of purpose should be 1 to 2 pages and should (at a minimum): 1) identify the degree track for which you are applying, 2) identify whether you are seeking an assistantship and whether you have other secured financial assistance (e.g., fellowships), 3) describe your educational and career goals, and 4) describe why you are a good fit for our program.

iii. Three Letters of Reference

Submit the names and contact information for three references in the online system.  Your references will then be contacted directly by UW Admissions, and will be directed to submit the recommendation online.

iv. Transcript(s)

Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.  [Note: unofficial transcripts are acceptable at the beginning of the admissions process; however, official transcripts will be required prior to full admission.  Use UW’s institution code 4855 for official transcript requests.]

v. GRE Scores

[Note: please provide self-reported scores (when prompted in the online application system) to avoid any delays; however, official scores will be required prior to full admission]

vi. TOEFL/IETLS Scores (international students only)

[Note: please provide self-reported scores (when prompted in the online application system) to avoid any delays; however, official scores will be required prior to full admission]

Every applicant will be considered on a competitive basis for a graduate research assistantship unless they indicate otherwise.  Assistantships include tuition, fees, health insurance, and a living stipend for two academic years.

If you have questions about the application process or the program, please contact our Graduate Program Coordinator, Ben Rashford (307-766-6474, brashfor@uwyo.edu).
