Choosing Wyoming because of Honors

When contemplating the choice of where to attend university,

I had two main choices left: the University of Richmond in Virginia or the University of Wyoming. What really compelled me to choose the University of Wyoming for my higher education was the nature of the Honors College here.

From the time that I first expressed interest in the Honors College, everyone has been so welcoming and so excited to have me here on campus. The Honors College truly made Laramie feel like a home away from home since they are so accepting and always there to support you. No matter what you need, there’s someone in the Honors College who can help.

Not only are the people wonderful, but the opportunities Honors provides are also endless.

Just based on the one semester I’ve been at UW, the Honors program has opened my eyes to numerous study abroad, internship, and research opportunities. I love how there is so much funding for unique opportunities through Honors that you can’t find elsewhere. It makes it so rewarding to be a part of this program.

The first year Honors classes are also challenging but unique, helping me to think outside the box. The professors are always willing to work with you and make sure you’re doing alright, which means a lot with college being such a big transition. UW would not feel like such a home without the Honors College, and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
