Presenting at the Western Regional Honors Council Conference (WRHC) was an incredible experience. During the conference, I had the opportunity to learn about so many different topics outside of my area of expertise such as political tensions in the arctic and the use of certain drugs to minimize withdrawal symptoms.

My own presentation was a poster on the hibernation patterns in chipmunks. I was one of over 70 poster presentations during the conference, and it was so much fun getting to see the different designs and topics. While I may have had very few people with prior knowledge of chipmunks stop to view my poster, so many people stopped to hear my presentation simply because they wanted to learn. It was wonderful to be able to share my knowledge and my work with a variety of intelligent individuals. Among this group were the presenters from UW. Each one of them had a positive attitude and wanted to learn, so the entire trip was filled with fun and new knowledge. We spent our time hopping from presentation to presentation and chatting about every topic under the sun. Overall, it was a wonderful and very informative experience. I would highly recommend attending the WRHC conference to anyone.
