Legal and User Name Changes
Legal Name Changes - Legal name changes require an updated Social Security card, or letter from the Social Security Administration. You may either bring your Social Security card to Hill Hall rooms 307 or 309, or fax to 307-766-5607. You can also submit this change along with an a picture of your Social Security card, by visiting WyoWeb to log into WyoCloud Financial Management & HCM → My Profile → Personal Information. Legal name changes do not automatically update the username.
User Name Changes - An employee can elect to change their current user name and must fall into one of two categories:
- Your name has changed due to marriage, divorce, etc; (must be verified with a new social security card showing updated name).
- You believe your current user name is inappropriate. (This option only applies if the user name was employee selected). System generated names cannot be changed.
In either of these instances, you cannot pick your new user name, it will be assigned to you automatically using the initial of your first name plus up to 7 characters of your last name. If another person has the same user name, a number will be added at the end for a total of up to 8 characters. A user name change must be made in person at our offices in Hill Hall room 307 or 309, or email records@uwyo.edu.
Professional Alias - If the user name change process described above does not fit your needs, you may
apply for a professional alias email account. The alias account will show your full
name, i.e. Cowboy.Joe@uwyo.edu, and will route to your system generated email account.
Professional alias accounts may be requested through Team Dynamix.
