WHAT IS A PATIENT AMBASSADOR
Patient Ambassadors bring the voices of Wyoming community members directly into our rural health improvement work. Ambassadors contribute by:
- Sharing their stories to raise awareness of health challenges in Wyoming
- Supporting other patients and families navigating chronic health conditions and caregiving
- Advising on programs, research, and policy that affect Wyoming communities
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Anyone who has personal experience with:
- Pregnancy, birth or postpartum care in Wyoming
- Chronic health conditions
- Mental health challenges
- Caregiving for a family member
You don't need to have a background in health care or advocacy — we're looking for lived experience, a willingness to engage, and a passion for better health outcomes in Wyoming.
WHAT'S INVOLVED
- Flexible commitment — starting from just a few hours per month, with support and training provided
- Compensation provided for your time
- Professional development opportunities along the way
There is a mix of ways to contribute: online meetings, in-person events (such as the
Maternal Health Summit), sharing your story in written or media formats, and/or advising
on research and program design — you choose what fits you best.
