About Me

I am an Assistant Instructional Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wyoming. My primary focus is teaching thermodynamics, heat transfer, and laboratory-based courses and graduate level courses.

Prior to joining the University of Wyoming, I worked as a Technical and Safety Instructor in the airline industry for five years and have over eight years of combined university-level teaching experience across multiple institutions.

Courses Taught

  • ME 2310 – Thermodynamics I
  • ME 3005 – Experimentation and Solid Modeling
  • ME 3040 – Thermodynamics II
  • ME 3160 – Thermo-Fluids Laboratory
  • ME 3360 – Transport Phenomena
  • ME 4060 – System Design I
  • ME 4070 – System Design II
  • ME 4340 – Gas Turbines
  • ME 4350 – Airplane Aerodynamics
  • ME 4460 – Solar Engineering

Research Background

My doctoral research focused on atmospheric icing and its thermal and aerodynamic effects on engineering systems. I conducted experimental investigations on dynamic ice accretion on power transmission cables and other aerodynamic surfaces using advanced diagnostic techniques, including Particle Image Velocimetry, high-speed imaging, infrared thermography, surface pressure measurements, and 3D scanning.

I also investigated passive and active anti-icing strategies, including superhydrophobic coatings and dielectric barrier discharge plasma. My research integrated thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and fluid mechanics in experimentally driven studies.

Although I do not currently lead an externally funded research program, I developed a tornado-like flow simulator at the University of Wyoming through senior design projects. This facility will be used to support future undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Service Roles

  • ABET Coordinator
  • Assistant Director, Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI)
  • Tech Scout, NSF I-Corps
  • Member, Ph.D. Committees
  • Faculty Hiring Committee Participant
  • Engineering Summer Program (ESP) Instructor
  • Program Fees Committee Member

In addition, I support entrepreneurial and innovation-focused initiatives within the college by helping identify senior design projects with potential for broader impact and applied development. These projects will be funded by CEI.
