Alex Annan

Dr. Alex Annan is currently Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the University of Wyoming.  Prior to joining the faculty at UW, he served as Instructor of Bass at Casper College.  He completed his Doctor of Arts in Jazz Studies degree at the University of Northern Colorado along with a secondary emphasis in classical bass performance.  Throughout his graduate studies, Alex was awarded 4 DownBeat Student Music Awards and was a finalist for the 2023 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Awards.

Alex has released four albums as a leader and his fifth album entitled "Blink" is set to be released in late 2025.  He has played with many jazz greats such as Diane Schuur, The Brubeck Brothers, Anat Cohen, Ken and Harry Watters, and Adam Larson.
