Cat Kamrath is a dance artist whose career has spanned throughout the states of California, Utah, and Wyoming. Cat serves as an Assistant Professor and Dance Area Coordinator, joining the University of Wyoming faculty in 2019. Her creative works as an independent artist, Artistic Director of Cat + Fish Dances, and UW faculty member have been shown in California, Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. Cat joined the teaching faculty of Integrated Movement Studies for their Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis certification program in 2019. Her research focuses on pedagogical practices, having presented at multiple conferences and published in Dance Studies Association. Cat specializes in modern dance and jazz techniques, dance pedagogy, somatic practices, dance history, composition, and mentors dance science research projects. She choreographs annually for department productions, ranging from musicals to new contemporary modern works to historical reconstructions.
